Berlin August 2024
A great city for some music and a good excuse for a holiday, we got some tickets to Noah Kahan at the Spandau Citadel and Bleachers at Columbiahalle.
Having been to Berlin a few times before we made a bit of an effort to see some other parts of the city we’ve not seen as much of before.
In addition to the gigs we went on a couple of tourist runs, visited the Museum for Photography, had some great food and a good wander around.
Van on Skye
In August 2022 we picked up a campervan from Indie Campers in Edinburgh and took a trip over to the Isle of Skye.
Along the way we visited The Old Man of Storr, The Fairy Pools and Neist Point Lighthouse. We also got to Portree to catch the Isle of Skye pipe band with a special guest from the Top Secret Drum Corps a week after they finished up at the Royal Military Tattoo in Edinburgh.
On the way to the island we also checked out Eilean Donan castle and the route home included a close up view of the Jacobite steam train in Fort William in addition to seeing it cross the Glenfinnan viaduct.
Day Trip to Edinburgh
Before packing up our lives and moving to Edinburgh, I had a quick one day trip to pick up the keys to our new flat and check the place out before getting back home for the big pack.
Jordan Road Trip December 2019
Over 7 days we traveled from Aqaba to Amman visiting Wadi Rum, Petra, the Dead Sea, Jerash and more along the way. It was a once in a lifetime type trip.
Jeep tours, camel rides, ancient ruins, castles, stone carved tombs, long canyon walks, desert and the Dead Sea. Every day was different and hopefully this captures just a small part of the journey.
Wild Atlantic Way June/July 2019
In June 2019 we packed up the car and headed on an 11 day adventure traveling the west coast of Ireland. This is just a quick edit of a bunch of drone footage that I took along the way.
The places in the video are (in order):
White Cliffs of Ashleam on Achill Island, Co. Mayo
Inch Beach on the Dingle Peninsula, Co. Kerry
12 Arch Bridge in Ballydehob, Co. Cork
James Fort near Kinsale, Co. Cork
Mullaghmore, Co. Sligo
Seattle Seaplane April 2019
We hoped on a Seaplane at Lake Union for a scenic tour of Seattle and its surrounding areas. My third time on a Seattle Seaplane but first with a GoPro so filmed the whole thing and did my best to edit it together. It’s a classic way to see the city and like most days in Seattle it was quite overcast so unfortunately no views of Mt. Rainier but everything else is there from the Space Needle to CenturyLink Field, Lake Union to UW and Puget Sound to Lake Washington.
Foggy Lough Ouler July 2020
With Covid lockdowns eased we decided to go for a hike for Vicki’s birthday. The goal was the complete the Lough Ouler loop which gives amazing looking views of the heart shaped lake. However, on the day it poured rain. We trudged through the boggy mountain side up to the lake but by the time we got there the fog was so heavy we could not continue to the higher views. After some drone flying we headed back down and the sun came out along the way. Eventually, after wading waist deep through the river, we were glad to get back to the car for a change of clothes and some warmth.
Maynooth Castle
Just a simple little video of a quick drone flight around Maynooth Castle.
